For over ten years Cheyenne resident Andy Corbin has grown giant pumpkins. This year he outdid himself with a 1,491-pound pumpkin. Of course it was his biggest pumpkin of the year - it broke the Wyoming state record.
On average, Andy's pumpkins grow about 25 pounds each day during the season. He uses specialty pumpkin seeds that can cost as much as $600. He's so enthused about his hobby that he's founded a website on the very specific subject called pumpkinfanatic.com. Between his own website and other online resources, Corbin has learned plenty of tips and tricks over the years.
"That's the only way you get to the next level is listening to other people and what they've done," he told the Cheyenne Tribune Eagle.
